The fifth hole turns you around to the east, where you would normally find the wind in your favour. This is a 532-yard par 5 off the blue championship tees and a more sedate 499 yards off of the medal tee. A fairway bunker is strategically placed to catch a ball hit to the left. Some yards from the tee a burn runs left and right from the fairway, but is ducted under the fairway itself. The hole then doglegs to the left and the fairway is of the hogs back variety. A well-struck second shot in favourable conditions will catch the green although since this is an elevated green any off-line shots can be kicked off.
